Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel – Early Years Review.

Response from Samares School:

Would children be coming for 20 hours/week but only part time to free the space for another child in that week?

How long do you envisage the Nursery day to be?

What happens to the children who need more than 20 hours due to parents working or children being under care of children's service – will they still have full time places?

What would constitute a full time place?

Logistics With regards to States and Private nurseries working together – what would be the cost implications as all States Nurseries have a teacher running them – would this be required in private nurseries?

Sustainability Will there be sufficient funding to continue this into the future – especially if it is planned that children of younger than 3-4yrs are to be included?

How would equity of access be assured?
