Dear Sirs,

Jersey Live creates the single biggest pull for journalists visiting the island at the moment. Police charging would sabotage this fantastic event, which if anything, should be heavily subsidised!! Jersey Live has also single handily made many people view Jersey differently, as somewhere modern and contemporary, which something we who work for high-end products in the tourism industry value immensely.

I understand that heritage events will be exempt from charging, but who has decided what is "heritage" and what isn't? Just because an event, like the Battle of the Flowers has been around for a long time, doesn't mean it is necessarily good or more worthy. Why can't the people living here and now

create their own piece of heritage? Years from now, if Jersey Live is

enabled to continue and grow, I would like to think that it too will be a heritage event, evolving for the needs of each generation. Or is "heritage" something that must stagnate and remain immovable?

Regards, Dara Lutes
