Dear Scrutiny Panel,

As probably the nearest resident to the Jersey Live event and a regular festival attender I have the following statements to make;

  1. This is by and large an extremely peaceful and fun event, the attendees 'users' should not have to foot the bill for what is a fantastic addition to Jersey's (lets face it usually staid and pedestrian) events calender.
  2. The ratio of police to festival goers is larger than I have seen at many larger UK festivals.
  3. I have not seen in the three years I have attended any problems at all, let alone problems that warrant an outside police force.
  4. The policing that I have witnessed has been at times overzealous eg pushing through groups of people innocently enjoying themselves, forcing people to walk around them when they are trying to join a queue etc, etc.
  5. I have found the events own security at the event to be more than adequate.

Come on scrutiny panel please don't kill this event Yours Sincerely,

Mark Bardsley.
