I have been asked to give my views on the topic of user pays policing, so here they are!

I do not object to the concept of user pays at large events such as Jersey Live. A few extra pennies or pounds on a ticket would not be noticed by the public and should be added to ensure their safety and the smooth running of the event.

I believe that the policing paid for by my taxes should cover all normal police duties and should not be diverted to extra events.

Policing at Heritage events such as Battle of Britain & Battle of Flowers should be paid for by the states department responsible for these events, or through funding raised by the organisers.

The police have enough to do with their normal duties and funds raised by taxation should not be diverted away from these.
