To whom it may concern,
I think the high police presence at Jersey Live was totally ridiculous – Jersey Live is one of the most chilled out and easy going festivals in the UK, there was no need for all the policemen/women to stand around in one big group their high visibility jackets scaring children and making people feel nervous. You go to a festival to have a good time, fair enough some people may take this far too literally, but due to the excellent organisation (especially the coloured wristbands according to age) there was no need in any way shape or form for the police to be there in such a high presence. Perhaps the money could be spent better by using undercover policemen/women.
I live in the UK now, but after living in Jersey for 18 years (parents still there) and going to numerous UK festivals, for the size of the Jersey Live and the extra £15 it cost on the ticket price I think the police were a total waste of money. Why not spend it on more bands?
