Just thought I would drop you a line with my views - basically I think it is a bit much to expect music festival visitors having to pay the cost of the policing.

Although the policing was very effective and made us feel safe, we as a family already pay an enormous amount of tax, as do the organisers of Jersey Live and the stall holders who benefit from the policing.

Second to that is that fact that by promoting events such as Jersey Live the whole island benefits from the increased tourism created.

Please could this be raised as yet another complaint - I am sure you already have loads - for the fact that we pay more than enough for the tickets.

We also went to Glastonbury this year and this is an enormous event with virtually no trouble (or at least none that we saw) - the police presence is as evident as it was at Jersey Live, however the ticket for 4 days camping and being able to see some of the top acts that the world has to offer was £145, which I would imagine also covers the policing!!

many thanks for allowing me to air my views Tanya Hotton
