Those that have organised the event have quite rightly beencongratulated for putting Jersey on the map, the event allows many people from all walks of life to get together and have a great weekend - it makes business sense to make a profit - what other localevents are held are truly inter generational, and what levels of policing do they require?
Jersey Live is unique, it appears that the organisers have been very pro active in working with the authorities,give them a lifeline - do not penalise them for their originality, or for the "with profit" aspect of this event, I would ask you to consider if this event was, for instance an operatic event would the authorities be some interested in the policing of the event, remember Jersey Live is intergenerational, as an island we need live entertainment - please do not through government intervention make this event out of reach for families because of costs.
We pay our taxes, this is a once a year event - reduce the levels of policing and allow the organisers some autonomy in policing their own event, do not make attending this event out of reach - Jersey really is becoming a two class society.
