Ash Disposal – 25.04.12 Dear Scrutiny
I can't believe that the States are not recycling our waste ash. The States have to learn from previous poor decisions.
Surely when this Incinerator was being planned let alone being built the most important item on the agenda should have been
how the waste was to be disposed of safely and at the least risk to the environment.
I feel very let down that yet again the States, that are elected to protect us and make good decisions on our behalf, have not been recycling this dangerous waste.
We can not bury it or build a headland from it, this is totally out of the question. Please Please do not let this happen.
If we do accept to take the waste from Guernsey then surely the income generated should be ring fenced for the recycling of our waste and the maintenance of the incinerator.
Guernsey must then take back there recycled waste.
