Just some questions I'd like to see if you could answer for me. They are to do with direct landing of shellfish into French ports ( Granville).

I've found to paperwork extremely time consuming. And also absolutely impossible when I'm out at sea, as we don't have network !

I also fish along side numerous, French, EU fishing vessels, on a daily basis. So would like to know what paperwork do these vessels need to fill out when entering back into their ports. When fishing our waters, which are now non EU waters ? As the French are forever asking for a level playing field !

I've been led to believe that our Government has issued EU fishing vessels, permits to fish within our waters free of charge. When we have to purchase ours, at a huge cost, if you can actually find one to suit your vessel.

As these permits are given free of charge, ( what are they contributing to our economy) ?

I'm very much aware that the French fishermen do not declare what they have caught in our waters to our Government!

They continue to bully us out of our own fishing grounds, in vessels huge in comparison to ours. Mowing through all our fishing gear without consequence!

I truly believe the Jersey Government has a once in a lifetime opportunity, to take control of our own waters.

So I'm REALLY hoping you will not let this slip through your fingers. As I fear the fishing industry in Jersey will be non existent within a number of years, if you do !
