Standing Order 55A – remote participation
THE STATES, with reference to their Act dated 14th September 2021, in which they had agreed that, notwithstanding Standing Order 55A(1), members who did not wish to attend in the States Chamber might continue to take part in States meetings using Microsoft Teams (until the States had considered and voted upon a proposition to re-apply Standing Order 55A(1) or to repeal or vary the terms of the Standing Order), assembled in accordance with Standing Order 55A with members able to participate remotely using Microsoft Teams.
H.M. The Queen – Platinum Jubilee
The Bailiff informed the Assembly that His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor had sent the following message to Her Majesty The Queen on behalf of the States and the public of the Island on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of The Queen's accession to the throne –
"The Lieutenant Governor, Bailiff , States and people of Jersey join together to send Your Majesty their most loyal congratulations on the occasion of your Platinum Jubilee and look forward with great anticipation to the events to be held in Jersey in the summer to celebrate this special anniversary to mark 70 years of dedicated service to the people of the Commonwealth. We express our most sincere and devoted affection and pray that Your Majesty will continue to be blessed with good health and happiness in the future."

Radiotherapy Unit in Jersey P.113/2021
THE STATES commenced consideration of a proposition of Deputy Montfort Tadier of St. Brelade entitled Radiotherapy Unit in Jersey' (P.113/2021) and, adopting an amendment of the Minister for Health and Social Services (P.113/2021 Amd.), agreed that, for the words "that, in principle", there should be substituted the words "that, subject to the outcomes of parts (b) and (c) below, and considering first and foremost the best outcomes for patients,".
THE STATES resumed consideration of the proposition of Deputy Montfort Tadier of St. Brelade , as amended, and, adopting the proposition, as amended –
- agreed that, subject to the outcomes of parts (b) and (c) below, and considering first and foremost the best outcomes for patients, Jersey should have its own Radiotherapy Unit for the treatment of cancer patients;
- requested the Minister for Health and Social Services to explore options for delivering a Radiotherapy Unit in Jersey, and for improving the experience and health outcomes for cancer patients; and
- requested the Minister for Health and Social Services to present the option appraisal and recommendations to the States Assembly no later than April 2022.
