COMMENTS

Deputy S.M. Wickenden of St. Helier 's amendment addresses a range of activity across government and island life and highlights important priorities within our existing strategies and policies. For example, the Council of Ministers has approved the cyber security  strategy  and  this  has  been  funded  and  is  currently  being  implemented. Similarly, the Common Strategic Policy already refers to developing the Island's skill base and the need for digital skills has been identified in the Skills Strategy.

The amendment reinforces the increasing significance of the digital agenda and the Council of Ministers support the added focus the amendment will bring to the Common Strategic Policy.
