Note:  After this amendment, the proposition would read as follows –

THE STATES are asked to decide whether they are of opinion

in accordance with Article 18(2)(e) of the States of Jersey Law 2005, to approve the statement of the Common Strategic Policy of the Council of Ministers as set out in the Appendix to this Proposition, except that on page 20 of the Appendix to the Proposed Common Strategic Policy 2018–22 (Section 6: Common themes), in the paragraph headed "We will work in partnership with Parishes, churches, community groups, the third sector, volunteers, businesses and key stakeholders", after the word "churches" to insert the words "faith groups", and after the word "businesses" to insert the words "trade unions,".

REPORT

The Council of Ministers are committed to working inclusively with all groups within our communities and values the contribution made across all faith groups. Faith groups and trade unions were deemed to be encapsulated by the term key stakeholders' and thus specific reference can be made to further highlight this commitment.

Financial implications

The Council of Ministers will bring forward spending proposals to support the common Strategic Policy in the government Plan.

Manpower implications

Implications for staffing and resourcing will be developed in the Government Plan and departmental planning process.
