Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (Jersey) Amendment No. 2 Order 2024. Minister for Infrastructure.

This Order amends the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (Jersey) Order 2003 to extend the existing 20 mph speed limit on La Route de la Trinité further south, to a point 15 metres south of East Lodge ( Trinity Manor).

This Order comes into force 7 days after it is made.

Wildlife Law (Jersey) Amendment No. 2 Order 2024. Minister for the Environment.

This Order amends Schedules 1, 4, 5 and 8 to the Wildlife (Jersey) Law 2021 (the "Law") to protect additional species under the Law, and to raise the level of protection for other species.

Article 2 adds the European eel and the large chequered skipper to the list of protected wild animals (Schedule 1). The eel is protected from being killed, injured, captured, sold, possessed, exported or released into the wild. The skipper is given all protections conferred by the Law.

Article 3 adds the large chequered skipper to the list of wild animals whose breeding sites and resting sites are protected when in use (Part 2 of Schedule 4).

Article 4 amends Schedule 5. In Part 1, the cattle egret is added to the list of wild birds whose breeding sites and resting sites are protected at any time. In Part 2, the common shelduck is added to the list of wild birds whose breeding sites and resting sites are protected when they are in use. The little egret is deleted from Part 2 owing to its existing entry in Part 1.

Article 5 replaces the table in Schedule 8, listing protected wild plants. The heading is amended to better reflect the terminology as defined by the Law. The third column of the table (specific provisions conferring protection) is deleted as a result of extending full protection to the 4 species that were previously protected only by specific provisions. The following species are added to the table –

3 species without a common name (Inocybe griseotarda, Mycenastrum corium and Scleroderma meridionale);

Marsh helleborine (Epipactis palustris);

Fennel pondweed (Stuckenia pectinata);

Broad-leaved sea-lavender (Limonium auriculae-ursifolium);

Fragile stonewort (Chara globularis); and

Yellow-wort (Blackstonia perfoliata).

Article 6 gives the name by which this Order may be cited and provides for it to come into force 7 days after it is made.

Lodging Houses (General Provisions) (Jersey) Amendment Order 2024. Minister for Housing.

This Order amends the Lodging Houses (General Provisions) (Jersey) Order 1962 to increase by 2.5% the fee payable for the registration, or renewal of registration, of a lodging house.

The new fee is £15.85 for each person aged 5 or over who can be lodged at the property. The fee was last increased with effect from 1 December 2023.

The Order was made on 14 October 2024 and comes into force on 1 December 2024.

Sustainable Economic Development (2025 Fees) (Jersey) Amendment Order 2024. Minister for Sustainable Economic Development.

This Order increases some of the fees charged under 3 regimes administered by the Minister for Sustainable Economic Development by between 2.02% and 2.5%.

Article 1 amends the Places of Refreshment (Registration) (Fees) (Jersey) Order 2008 to increase the fee for an application for registration, or the renewal of registration, of premises as a place of refreshment under Article 4(1) of the Places of Refreshment (Jersey) Law 1967. That fee was last increased with effect from 1 January 2024.

Article 2 amends the Tourism (General Provisions) (Jersey) Order 1990 to increase the fees for the registration, or the renewal of registration, of premises under Article 10(7) of the Tourism (Jersey) Law 1948. Those fees were last increased with effect from 8 October 2023.

Article 3 amends the Weights and Measures (Testing Fees) (Jersey) Order 2003 to increase all but one of the fees for the testing of weighing or measuring equipment under Article 12 of the Weights and Measures (Jersey) Law 1967. Those fees were last increased with effect from 1 January 2024.

Article 4 gives the title of the Order and states when the provisions come into force. Articles 2 and 4 come into force 7 days after the Order is made. Articles 1 and 3 come into force on 1 January 2025.

The Order was made on 16 October 2024, Articles 2 and 4 come into force on 23 October 2024 and the remaining Articles come into force on 1 January 2025.
