In accordance with Article 5 of the States of Jersey Police Force Law 2012, the following nomination was made by the Minister for Justice and Home Affairs as a member of the Jersey Police Authority –

There being no other nominations, the Bailiff declared that Deputy Helen Mary Miles of St. Brelade had been duly appointed as members of the Jersey Police Authority.

Arrangement of public business for the present meeting

THE STATES noted that, in accordance with Standing Order 34(1), Deputy Kristina Louise Moore of St. Mary , St. Ouen and St. Peter had informed the Greffier of the States that her proposition entitled Reporting on Ministerial Activities' (P.71/2024) had been withdrawn.

Modern Languages in Schools P.74/2024

THE STATES commenced consideration of a proposition of Deputy Montfort Tadier of St. Brelade entitled Modern Languages in Schools' (P.74/2024) and, adopting the first part of an amendment of the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning, (P.71/2024 Amd.) agreed that, in paragraph (b), for the word "States" there should be substituted the words "mainstream provided".

Deputy Montfort Tadier of St. Brelade did not propose paragraph (c) of the proposition.

THE STATES, resuming consideration of the proposition of Deputy Montfort Tadier , as amended, commenced consideration of parts 3 and 4 of the amendment of the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning.
